Finds species names in English biomedical text with zero-shot labeling
What it does
This model detects species names in English biomedical text, such as scientific literature and clinical records, using zero-shot named-entity recognition where users supply entity labels at inference time. It reports an F1 score of 0.772 on the Species-800 benchmark, with 220M parameters and a GLiNER backbone.
